The National Dance Society offers CAP as a service to dancers and dance educators who need independent, professional evaluation of their works. It is open to NDS and non-NDS members. Dance faculty seeking tenure/promotion may find these evaluation useful pieces in their dossier. Choreography may be submitted as research and the process of adjudication adds a level of objectivity.
Dance Research Reference List (almost here) is a living compilation of all dance-related research articles. As a benefit of membership, this resource can be used to search and easily locate relevant publications for scholarship, school project, or personal edification.
The National Dance Education Standards Framework provides a comprehensive, holistic dance education curriculum to facilitate teaching and learning with dance content knowledge, skills, and specific performance indicators, preparing students for college and dance careers.
Delta Eta Pi is the National Dance Society’s honor society. Its purpose is to provide an organization dedicated to the advancement of dance and dance education in middle and secondary schools, studios, colleges, universities, and other institutions of higher learning. Delta Eta Pi offers programs in dance instruction in one or more genres; and to recognize and encourage academic excellence, dance technique, choreography, scholarship, and service to the school and community.
The Leadership Academy (LA) provides an intensive, 18-month program available to anyone, based on the premise that leadership is a process by which individuals mobilize others to achieve specific goals, and is a critical factor in the success or failure of any initiative or organization. If you have a passion for excellence, for others, and for making a difference, the Leadership Academy is for you. Candidates are carefully screened and selected through an application process. Each candidate completes a personal project to utilize the lessons learned. More information here.
