Ms. Gayanne Grossman received the Dance Advocate Award!

Gayanne Grossman currently works as a physical therapist and educator at the Lehigh Valley Hospital Network, Performing Arts Medicine Program, and is the Director of Dance Wellness at Muhlenberg College. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts Modern Dance and a Bachelor of Science, Physical Therapy, degrees from the University of Utah. She received a Master of Dance Education from Temple University. Gayanne Grossman is a continual student, an established researcher, and a recognized scholar (nearly 50 publications). Her recent textbook Dance Science: Anatomy, Movement
Analysis, and Conditioning is highly acclaimed. Ms. Grossman is a leading guest lecturer, workshop facilitator, and teacher in the U.S. and internationally. Many of her college/university dance science students were accepted into physical therapy and medical school programs at Columbia University, New York University, George Washington University, Arcadia College, and Thomas Jefferson School of Medicine. Others are in graduate dance programs across the country. Some are teaching kinesiology in higher education. Many of her high school dance students were selected for programs at the North Carolina School of the Arts, Alvin Ailey School, S.U.N.Y. Purchase, Skidmore College, Fordam University, U.C. Irvine, and University of Michigan. She currently serves on the board of directors for the Repertory Dance Company, Allentown, PA and is a member in the Performing Arts Medicine Association. She serves on the board of directors of the International Association for Dance Medicine and Science (IADMS) and in 2014-2015 was granted fellowship status for excellence in scientific and educational contributions to the field.
